PITSAMI NORM

Founder & CEO

Pitsami Norm, CEO/Founder of P.S. Affairs and former Chairman of the Houston International Trade development Council-Asian American Pacific Islanders Initiative. She was recently named as 2019 Role Model for Women in the Fast Lane of S.T.E.A.M. organized by The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce.

She has coordinated, executed and chaired events for the White House, consulate generals and a host of other annual corporate events, private events and charity galas in Houston, Texas. With over 12+ years in the event planning industry, Pitsami has a natural talent for transforming the ordinary to extraordinary. Her name has become synonymous with style, creativity, elegance, and vision.

Pitsami was born in Cambodia during a genocide known as the killing fields. The tyranny of the Khmer Rouge regime, which killed about 2 million innocent people. While in power, they terrorized Cambodians through slavery, torture, and execution.

She lost two siblings and most of her extended family. Fearing more deaths, her family took the long dangerous walk to freedom at night with the moonlight as their only guiding source.

Her family immigrated to the United States when she was six years old. They initially settled in Massachusetts with their sponsors. While there were only a handful of Cambodian families, the close-knit community helped ingrain a strong sense of Khmer cultural identity into her. It also helped instill in her the value of humanity and giving back without expecting anything in return.

Pitsami attended Northeastern University in Boston, MA and majored in Finance. She was determined to succeed despite coming from a refugee family who at times struggled financially.

Tragically, Pitsami lost both of her parents to cancer. Through all this pain, destruction, and personal loss, a strong passionate champion for others emerged. She is grateful for the opportunities she has had in her career and hopes to encourage the next generation of Cambodians to pursue the career paths where they may not necessarily fit a preconceived stereotypical mold.

Reflecting, Pitsami realized her family background and Cambodian roots are the very reasons she has become a driven yet balanced person today.
